Professor Melissa Sefton is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing within the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences at Jacksonville University. Professor Sefton obtained a BA in English from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, her BSN from Jacksonville University, and her MSN in Nursing Education from Western Governor's University in Salt Lake City, UT. Professor Sefton began her nursing career in adult medical surgical nursing before transitioning to pediatrics. She has over a decade of experience in the Neonatal ICU and holds national certification in neonatal intensive care. Her research interests include pediatric health, pediatric nursing education, and gamification in education.
